Abstract

In March 2020, the number of poor people (residents with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in West Sumatra reached 344.23 thousand people (6.28 percent), an increase of 1.14 thousand people compared to the conditions in September 2019 which by 343.09 thousand people (6.29 percent).
The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2019 was 4.71 percent, rising to 4.97 percent in March 2020. While the percentage of poor people in rural areas in September 2019 was 7.69 percent, down to 7.43 percent in March 2020
