Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
The December 2022 national NTP is 109.00, up 1.11 percent compared to the previous month's NTP. The increase in NTP was due to the price index received by farmers (It) which increased by 1.83 percent which was higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) of 0.72 percent.
Nationally, the January-December 2022 NTP is 107.33 with an It value of 120.67 while an Ib of 112.43.
In December 2022, the West Nusa Tenggara Province's NTP experienced the highest increase (2.26 percent) compared to the increase in other provinces' NTP. In contrast, West Sulawesi Province's NTP experienced the largest decrease (2.47 percent) compared to the decline in other provinces' NTP.
In December 2022 there was an increase in the Household Consumption Index (IKRT) in Indonesia by 0.95 percent due to an increase in the index for all expenditure groups.
The national Agricultural Household Business Exchange Rate (NTUP) for December 2022 was 108.96 or an increase of 1.59 percent compared to the previous month's NTUP.
Of the 1,449 sales of unhusked rice in 26 provinces during December 2022, 54.18 percent of dry harvested unhusked (GKP) transactions were recorded, 32.02 percent of dry milled unhulled (GKG) and 13.80 percent of non-quality unhusked rice.
During December 2022, the average GKP price at the farm level was IDR 5,624.00 per kg, an increase of 17.83 percent and at the milling level IDR 5,748.00 per kg, an increase of 17.87 percent compared to the price of grain of the same quality in December. 2021. The average GKG price at the farm level is IDR 6,166.00 per kg, an increase of 21.75 percent and at the milling level IDR 6,278.00 per kg or an increase of 21.41 percent. The price for non-quality unhusked rice at the farmer's level is IDR 5,035.00 per kg, an increase of 17.01 percent and at the milling level, IDR 5,134.00 per kg, an increase of 16.94 percent.
Compared to last month, the average grain price in December 2022 at the farm level for GKP, GKG and quality outside grain rose by 4.20 percent each; 6.59 percent; and 0.26 percent. At the milling level, the average grain price in December 2022 compared to last month for GKP, GKG and non-quality grain rose by 4.06 percent each; 6.42 percent; and 0.29 percent.
During December 2022, a rice producer price survey at mills was conducted at 876 milling companies in 31 provinces, in which 1,113 rice observations were obtained at mills.
In December 2022, the average price of premium quality rice at the mill was IDR 10,954.00 per kg, an increase of 13.25 percent compared to December 2021, while medium quality rice at the mill was IDR 10,371.00 per kg, an increase of 13 .61 percent, and the average price of non-quality rice at the mill was IDR 9,807.00 per kg, an increase of 10.33 percent.
Compared to last month, the average price of rice at the mill in December 2022 for premium, medium and non-quality rose by 4.21 percent each; 2.46 percent; and 2.77 percent.
