Abstract

In 2022, West Sumatra's Human Development Index (IPM) will reach 73.26. This figure increased by 0.61 points or 0.84 percent higher compared to 2021.
During 2010-2021, the HDI for West Sumatra Province increased by an average of 0.72 percent per year. The 2022 HDI increase occurs in all dimensions, both longevity and healthy living, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.
In the dimensions of longevity and healthy living, babies born in 2022 have an expectation of living up to 69.90 years, 0.31 years longer than those born in the previous year.
In the knowledge dimension, the expected length of schooling for residents aged 7 years and over increased 0.01 years compared to the previous year, from 14.09 to 14.10 years, while the average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and over increased 0.11 years, from 9 .07 years to 9.18 years in 2022.
In the decent living dimension, which is measured based on the average real expenditure per capita (adjusted), it increased by 3.15 percent compared to the previous year
