Inflasi di Kota Padang terjadi karena adanya kenaikan indeks pada sebagian besar kelompok pengeluaran, yang tertinggi terjadi padakelompok pengeluaran bahan makanan sebesar 0,59 persen.
Inflasi kota Bukittinggi disebabkan adanya peningkatan indeks pada semua kelompok pengeluaran, yang tertinggi terjadi pada kelompok pengeluaran perumahan, air, listrik, gas dan bahan bakar sebesar 1,74 persen.
Laju inflasi tahun kalender sampai bulan November 2018 Kota Padang dan Kota Bukittinggi masing-masing sebesar 2,38 persen dan 2,57 persen. Laju inflasi year on year (November 2018 terhadap November 2017) Kota Padang sebesar 3,12 persen dan Kota Bukittinggi sebesar 2,95 persen.
