2020 in addition to beautiful numbers, also has an important meaning for the Indonesian people. In that year the 7th Population Census (SP2020) will be implemented since the era of the nation's independence. The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) once again received the mandate to be the executor of the grand activity.
In order to equalize the perception of the basic principles of SP2020 implementation and the stages of its activities, BPS has carried out the SP2020 implementation Kick of Meeting. The event which was opened by the Head of BPS, Kecuk Suhariyanto was held in Building 1, 10th floor, BPS, Wednesday (14/2). Acting as the Keynote Speech, Minister of PPN / Head of Bappenas, Bambang Brodjonegoro, who delivered the material on SP2020 for Improving Population Data Quality.
Present at the event, the invitees consisting of the entire SP2020 Secretariat Team, relevant BPS officials, invitations from relevant institutions: BAPPENAS, UNFPA, LIPI, BKKBN, etc., and invitations from academics. On that occasion also presented the Grand Design SP2020 by the Deputy of BPS Social Statistics, M. Sairi Hasbullah.
In his remarks Kecuk emphasized that the implementation of SP2020 not only belongs to Indonesia, but also is one of the world's major agendas. "Considering the importance of SP2020, we are trying to prepare SP2020 as well as possible so that its implementation can fulfill 3 basic principles, namely the ABC Principles. SP2020 must be A (Accurate) so it can be used as a B (Benchmark), because it has a C (Comprehensive) coverage, "explained Kecuk.
The SP2020 implementation will be very different from the previous SP2010. This Population Census will utilize geo-spatial technology as the main framework and data collection, and utilize CAPI (Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing) technology and CAWI (Computer Assisted Web Interviewing). With this method, it is expected that the time used for enumeration is more efficient and the resulting data is expected to be of higher quality.
